Bye Bye Bill Graham

Well, it appears that Bill Graham has decided to retire. He was a very nice person, and a good interim leader. He came to talk to our club last November, and gave a nice speech. I wish him the best of luck in his upcoming endeavors.

I also would like to wish Bob Rae the best of luck in his fight for the riding. It won't be easy, but let's hope he keeps the riding red.

Goodridance to Bill.

He was a lousy Foreign Minister and an ok Defence Minister.

He blew it last summer as Oppostion Leader. He proved very weak and meek.

Bob Rae will be a welcome relief in Toronto Centre.

I agree that Bill was a lame leader and didn't have the guts to go after Harper's jugular. Too diplomatic to be a leader, but nevertheless an excellent politician

Toronto Centre is the safest seat in the country for the Liberals. I don't know where you come up from the assumption that this is anything but a cakewalk.

Interim leaders aren't supposed meant to be overly divisive or anything like that. Since they don't really have a mandate from the party, it would be awkward for them to set much agenda.

And by-elections are never too easy. Yes, it should be an easy seat, but I think that lots of people in the riding preferred Graham to the Liberals, so there's always a chance it could swing NDP, for example.
